Groups and tours

MoMA is eager to welcome private, school and university, and community groups. We offer discounted group admission rates and a wide variety of private tours to meet your groups’ needs.

Only MoMA educators are authorized to lead tours in the Museum. The only exception is for those eligible for a Visiting Professor reservation.

Group admission

MoMA offers discounted rates for parties of 10 visitors or more. Save money, skip the line with an expedited check-in, and get a dedicated arrival time slot exclusively for your group.

Guided tours

Professional art historians are available to provide guided Museum tours of the masterworks of MoMA’s collection, the Museum’s architecture, and current exhibitions. Tours can be customized to focus on specific galleries, mediums, or collection areas; tours in foreign languages and tours for families and children are also available.

Before- and after-hours tour
Enjoy the exclusive, intimate experience of touring the Museum without the crowds, available from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Corporate clients, especially, utilize the private before- or after-hours tours for corporate entertaining.

Fees: Adults $34, seniors $30, students $26, members and Corporate Members $19, children $19, students of selected colleges and universities $14. Fees include the price of admission.

A minimum payment of $340 ($250 for MoMA Members), is required to book an hour long tour. Tours lasting longer than one hour can be arranged for an additional fee. For tours booked with less than two weeks notice, additional rush fees apply.

Before- and after-hours tour
Before-hours fees: Adults $63, members and Corporate Members $50, seniors $59
After-hours fees: Adults $75, members and corporate Members $65
Fees include the price of admission.

A minimum payment of $630 ($500 for MoMA Members) is required for a tour before Museum hours. A minimum payment of $750 ($650 for MoMA Members) is required for a tour after Museum hours. Tours lasting longer than one hour can be arranged for an additional fee. For tours booked with less than two weeks notice, additional rush fees apply.

Gift tours
Gift certificates for Museum tours are the perfect fit for any occasion. Many of our guests use them to mark a special event such as a birthday or anniversary. Gift tours are available for groups of up to 10 visitors, are one hour long, include Museum admission, and are led by a knowledgeable art historian. Gift tours may take place during public or private hours, and rates vary accordingly. All gift tour certificates come in attractive packaging perfect for gift presentation.

Expand your classroom to MoMA. Visit the Museum during or before public hours and lead a lecture for your college or university students. You can also customize a tour led by a MoMA lecturer, or have an unguided visit for your class.

College and university group visit

At MoMA, we believe that discussing and making art are vital to development. Art enriches lives, builds self-confidence, and strengthens critical-thinking skills. We tailor our free programs to fit the needs, abilities, and interests of community groups and organizations.

We work with a variety of nonprofit, mission-driven community organizations throughout New York City. Work with us to tailor a program to the children, young adults, adults, families, or older adults your organization serves.

One-part program
A one-time MoMA visit includes an hourlong guided gallery tour with a MoMA educator.

Art studio
Explore a theme in the galleries and then create your own works of art in the MoMA classrooms. Two or two-and-a-half-hour programs available.

Three-part program
A MoMA visit, plus a pre-visit to your school or organization and a post-visit that often includes art making. Three one-hour sessions.

Community-based lecture
We will come to you. A one-time, hourlong interactive program at your nonprofit organization or school, tailored to suit the interests of your group.

Access programs

We offer many types of visits at MoMA or at your organization. We have educators that specialize in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, individuals who are blind or have low vision, individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, and individuals with psychosocial disabilities. All tours and workshops for individuals with disabilities are free of charge, including requests for wheelchairs, assistive listening devices, and American Sign Language interpretation.
